Friday quizzage!

I missed last Friday. D'oh! Ah well.

The Sonnet

Deliberate Gentle Love Dreamer (DGLD)

The Sonnet

Romantic, hopeful, and composed. You are the Sonnet. Get it? Composed?

Sonnets want Love and have high ideals about it. They're conscientious people, caring & careful. You yourself have deep convictions, and you devote a lot of thought to romance and what it should be. This will frighten away most potential mates, but that's okay, because you're very choosy with your affections anyway. You'd absolutely refuse to date someone dumber than you, for instance.

Lovers who share your idealized perspective, or who are at least willing to totally throw themselves into a relationship, will be very, very happy with you. And you with them. You're already selfless and compassionate, and with the right partner, there's no doubt you can be sensual, even adventurously so.

You probably have lots of female friends, and they have a special soft spot for you. Babies do, too, at the tippy-top of their baby skulls.

Your exact female opposite:

Always avoid: The 5-Night Stand (DBSM), The False Messiah (DBLM), The Hornivore (RBSM), The Last Man on Earth (RBSD)

Consider: The Loverboy (RGLM)

What's she reading this Wednesday?

Actually, I'm in the midst of three books right now. The one I was reading this morning is one I received for Christmas from a friend who knows me well. It's The Pleasure of My Company by Steve Martin. I'm diggin' it. It is only vaguely linear and follows the charmingly disfunctional life of one man. It's fascinating reading how he justifies all the patterns and rules he imposes on himself, the long and complex fantasies he builds for himself, and descriptions of how he interacts with each of the people in his insular world. Steve Martin is one of those hit-or-miss people for me. When he hits, it is dead on target. When he misses, his misses so completely I can't even describe it. This one, for me, is a hit. I recommend checking it out.

Change is so good!

As someone who works daily with words, I have to say how delightful and refreshing it is to once again have an eloquent president in the White House. President Obama's speech was beautiful and brilliant.

I feel better than I have in eight years.

Friday Quizzage

Your Word is "Fearless"

You see life as your one chance to experience everything, and you just go for it!

You believe the biggest risk is being afraid and missing out on something amazing.

Sometimes your fearlessness means you're daring. You enjoy risky activities.

And sometimes your fearlessness means you're courageous. You're brave enough to do the right thing, even when it's scary.

Hmm...I like it. :D

New Review

I discovered a new-to-me review of Ballad of Jimothy Redwing today. (Thanks, Kate, for the tip! :D ) Judging by the url, it went up last month, but December being what it is, I'm not surprised I missed it. It's been a while since I got reviewed and this was such a good one from Joyfully Reviewed that it made me all warm and fuzzy inside. :)

Check it out here.

Pretty awesome, yes? And after the, let us say, mixed way my year has begun, this was a treat of major proportions.

Friday Non-Quizzage

Not so much with the quizzes today. Having spent an unscheduled night trapped in Eastern Washington, I'm just glad to be home with my kitty on my lap and the laundry humming away in the basement. I hope your week was just as fun and yet at the same time less exciting than mine!

Vacation

I'm heading out of town tomorrow and won't have 'net access for several days. *eep!* I'll be back for Friday Quizzage, though. :) See you then!

Friday Quizzage!

Let's hope I do better in 2009. ;-)

You Remember 40% of 2008

Okay, you were somewhat paying attention during 2008.

But you're not going to impress anyone with your knowledge of what went down.

You know the basics about what went down, but little else...

Let's just say you won't be writing the history book for 2008.

We had a great New Year's Eve celebration at our house again this year. Much food and much drink and much fun with good friends were had! I hope that you spent an enjoyable and safe New Year's Eve, however you chose to celebrate.
