I hope everyone had a fun and safe New Year's Eve! A year ago today I
was flying home from Iceland. I expect today to be much more relaxed.
;-)
I'm not much for resolutions, New Year's or
otherwise, but there are things that I'm excited about today, this
month, and in the coming year.
Today: I have
black-eyed peas cooking in the crock pot. I missed out on this Southern
good luck tradition last year, so I was determined to make it happen
this year. I hope it turns out tasty!
This month:
I'm back to a new session of aerials and I am determined to accomplish
what's needed to move up to the next level by Session 2. (I would bore
you with details, but that would be boring--and possibly
nonsensical--for you.)
This year: It's the 25th
anniversary season for the theatre company I work for and I am beyond
excited by the slate we have planned, especially King Lear.
*swoon* (Yes, I said *swoon*.) Plus, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival is
also doing Lear this year, and I already have tickets to see it in
September. Woot!
This year, too: I have two books
that will go out of print this year, and I'm determined to get them
re-pubbed in a timely fashion. I'm already working on cover art for the
first one, so yay for me! I have unfinished manuscripts on my computer
that I plan to finish, too. Maybe it's just the sunshine out there, but
I'm feeling productive today. Here's hoping it lasts.
Is there anything you're super excited about this year? What delights does 2013 hold for you?

Happy New Year + Quizzage!
I hope everyone had a fun and safe New Year's Eve! Around here, we celebrated "2010: The Year We Make Contact" (thank you Arthur C. Clarke) with space-themed costumes, music, and movies. All in all, it was a very fun evening!
I looked for a good New Year quiz for today, but failed utterly. So instead, here's a quiz that seems reasonably appropriate to the day--at least for me. And if you stayed up to ring in the new year, you might find it appropriate, too.

New Anthology Cover!
Check it out! I got the cover art for the upcoming anthology from Torquere Press. My short story, Play Music, Play Magic, will be in this anthology that comes out on 13 January 2010. This is a magic-themed (obviously), m/m/f anthology and I'm totally jazzed to see all the other stories in it! I'll have a bit of a blog party leading up to it, so check back for that.
I hope everyone has a safe and fun New Year's Eve!

Friday Quizzage
I thought the Snow Quiz would be a good choice, seeing as we're apparently having out 100-year winter storm right now. Yes, we are a solid two weeks into snow here in the temperate Pacific Northwest. The good news is, it's supposed to get up to--and stay at or around--40F this weekend. So hopefully it'll all melt away by New Year's Eve. Cross your fingers for us.
Umm...relaxed? Maybe at the moment, but not usually. Ah well. They can't all be right. ;o)
Your Snow Test Says You're Independent |
![]() You feel like something good will happen to you in the next few weeks. You love to work, especially when work is creative. You have the makings of a successful artist. You are an independent, individualistic person. You thrive when you're doing your own thing. Your biggest worry in life is your family. You stay up at night thinking about them. When it comes time to relax, you have no problem letting go. You are already pretty relaxed as is! |
